Bimmer getting neutered today...

I just dropped Bimmer off at the vet to be neutered. Needless to say, I'm not getting any work done...

Try not to worry he will do just fine. When my male was neutered he came home and acted as if nothing had been done at all. Keep us updated on how he does

Thank God! The vet just called and said Bimmer made it through the surgery fine and is starting to come around and regain his balance. They have him on fluids because he's so small and they agreed to watch him the entire day since I'm at work. I'll be picking him up later, but they're going to call me every couple hours to report his status. I love my vet. I had to go to four different ones before I found them, but now I'm comfortable my little boy is in competent hands. Thanks for letting me "vent" a little...

I am sooo happy to hear that he did so good Georgie goes in soon to be neutered, and I am super nervous. How big is Bimmer?

I am so glad that Bimmer is out of surgery and is doing well. It is so stressful knowing and waiting.

Bimmer is almost eight months old and weighs just under two pounds. He's VERY small.

If you look at my posts in this forum around January and February, you'll see how much of a struggle he went through in the first months of his life. At one point he had been on several medications for weeks and didn't eat for four days in a row. After feeding him liquified food through a syringe during this time, I felt like it was selfish of me to put him through all of that and decided that I'd let him go in peace since that seemed to be the road we were on. Against my previous vet's advice, I took him off all of his medication and stayed up an entire night with him waiting for the inevitable. Eventually I fell asleep and woke up the next morning and he was still with us. By the end of that day, he had done a complete 180 degree shift in his condition and began eating his food again. By the third day, he was as active as he had ever been and his sugar level wasn't dropping every hour. He's been fine ever since... it was the medications that were keeping him from eating which meant low blood sugar which led to some really dark places for a while. Heck, I don't even know where that trusty tube of Nutrical is anymore... we haven't used it in months.

Needless to say, I was VERY worried all this week and especially this morning. I'm leaving the office early this afternoon to go pick him up and be with him... he'll expect me there and we both know the drill.

I should also mention, he's nearly 100% potty trained on pee pads now (at 8 months!) He's a tough little guy, but he's got the smarts to match.

its great to hear that your baby is good! My tootie is the opposite of yours, he is 14 pounds... he got fixed yesterday and he is just fine and I cant keep him still...

Just got back from the vet with little man in tow. He has some serious stitching in his crotch (God bless him) but his behavior is just as rowdy as it was this morning. He's at a full 100% play-mode and doesn't seem to be showing any ill effects from the surgery. For those of you who haven't experienced this yet, it's really been more worrying than anything. Little man is perfectly fine and Dad was all worried about nothing.

Also, his weight is now up to 2.3 pounds!

i am glad Bimmer is doing well. I have thought of you guys often. He is really small. i didn't realize he was that small but I have forgotten what his age is. You are a great yorkie daddy!!!!!!!
