Walking your furbaby

I have a few
1st: My Sissy likes to walk with the big dogs, well this hurt her?
I do carry her at times but, she wiggles until I put her down. If I walk
her to long will this hurt her paws. The big dog Bud is very good with her.
2: Hypoglycemic what are the symptoms
I was told to give my babies a sugar wafer a day to help this!!!

I walk Sissy as often as I can. But she walks with me alone, no other dogs. I don't think that walking with the big dogs would hurt her; other than maybe the speed at which they walk and the distance they walk. The little ones tire easily - but if she wants to walk, I would let her. Just make sure you have water with you as they can dehydrate easily in hot weather.

Symptoms of hypoglycemia are lethargic behavior, walking like drunk (or inability to walk/stand), shaking, seizures. I've not heard of the sugar wafer, but Nutrical is recommended for the puppies a few times a day. A dime size amount on your finger, or however you get her to take it. Some people also use Karo Syrup in their puppie's water.

How old is your yorkie???

I think it is perfectly fine to walk her with your big dog. Just watch her and if you see her tiring out then pick her up. Usually yorkies will let you know that they are tired by sitting down or something like that.

To prevent hypoglocemia, you need to make sure that your puppy is getting enough food throughout the day and make sure she is getting enough sleep and staying warm. You can also put Kyro syrup in her water or give her NutriCal or NutriStat throughout the day to prevent her blood sugar from dropping.

My little Yorkie went on a walk with huge dogs this weekend. He loved it! He was bursting with pride at being allowed out with such big dogs. It was really freakishly cute.
