Loreta Serafini of Oz Yorkies - she has very beautiful yorkies. She’s had a lot of success with her breeding program. Which is based on a book she read and seems to involve repeating a pedigree structure over and over again. Anyways, she’s told me that her dogs are not to be bred after she dies. And already her dogs are not found in the pedigrees of others. Very few ppl have access to her dogs. I’m shocked that she’s worked multiple decades to take from the gene pool and work it and mold it to get something really good, but then turns around and says nobody can have what she has and her dogs aren’t to be bred after she dies. Then what’s the point of breeding in the first place? If it’s not to get something good and try to improve the entire gene pool. I’m aware that she doesn’t have the respect of her peers, and she has a reputation of being quite nasty. She uses social media to shame and publicly humiliate people. She’s a difficult person to deal with. Everyone knows that. But is it normal for breeders to say that their dogs are not to be bred when they die? That goes against everything I’ve ever heard about about why people breed in the first place.
