| ![]() To those of you who was so kind to give info for my little Hummer, I wanted to send a quick update. Hummer did excellent after his teeth extractions for two weeks. He was improving every day and getting stronger. Then this past wed. we had yet another attack in which he couldnt breath. Back to the ER vet since it was after hours. This doc said he has a chronic infection from his teeth prior to surgery. She felt since we had not administered one strong enough after surgery it had only made the infection "lay down"..He had another attack the next afternoon so off to my vet on Thursday. My vet feels Hummer has some type of degenerative disease which causes him not to be able to swallow well. Once intaking liquid and food, it interrupts his breathing. So I brought him home to see which doc is correct. Sadly, though I see the antibiotic is helping clear up all that snorting stuff, I can tell he is now struggling more to swallow and still making alot of saliva and nose drainage. He is very tired and now wants to sleep alot. The vet says we just take it day to day and determine his quality of life according to attacks. Well, he has done well the past three days, eating well with no difficulty. I had to turn it over to God for I dont know what else to do and my heart is breaking when he struggles and feels bad. Still praying it is the antibiotics making him feel so bad and still recovering from 2 surgeries. I have cried so much I am worn, torn and numb. I am trying to not let him see me do this and be strong for him. I must trust God to show me what is best for Hummer and rely on his strength whatever His decision. thank you all for any prayers out there for my precious Hummer!! Pamela |

| ![]() I'm Praying for Hummer & for You. Did the vet mention Collapsed Trachea ? If your vet isn't SURE what's going on then I would find a specialist ASAP. |
