| ![]() So Leiloni is a little more than a week into her heat cycle. I wanted to have her spayed before this happened but her vet said he didn't think it was wise to do it till she was at least 2 1/2 lbs. She's 2.4.5 now. Well I had a missed call and didn't realize there was a message from the vet wanting to know if I wanted to make an appointment for her surgery. I know I have to wait till she's completely done with her cycle. But what's freaking me out is if she's still under weight why would they agree to do it now? I was prepared to wait a year or so in hopes she will gain a little more weight. Any thoughts on the matter?

| ![]() I would wait for her growth plates to close. Kyra was a year before hers finally did and she was only 2lb 12 oz if I remember right, but she did great.

| ![]() Leiloni's 1st birthday was Friday. My Gus had pretty much stopped growing at a year but I know just like people they are all different. Although I don't like to see her restless and uncomfortable I think I will wait. I'm hoping she will at least put on a few oz's

| ![]() The vet can tell you for sure if the growth plates are closed with a simple xray. Ours wanted Kyra to get to 3 lbs but it didn't look like that was ever going to happen so we had it done. They were great with her.
