My little 12year old man is being treated for parasites. I have to take another stool sample to vet in a few days. I neglected to ask vet simple but obvious question. Not sure how to phrase this, but how "fresh" does the sample need to be? He usually poops at nighy or late afternoon, if I get the sample to the vet the next morning will that be good enough?

That will be fine, whatever you can get will work.

Sometimes they don't need a sample they have a long plastic stick with a loop in the end that looks like a large plastic needle sort of. (It is not sharp, though!) They put the loop end in the anus and pull feces out...

I think that should be fine. You just probably don't want it to be several days old... I would just take the sample in the next day.
