| ![]() Hello everyone. This is such a dumb question, but I thought I'd ask and hopefully get an answer. I have a question about clothes. My baby has a lot of little cute outfits that I would love to put on her when we go out places. The problem is that the majority of them do not have a leash hole nor D ring on them. Now my question is this: is there a way of her wearing the outfits while on a leash without a) using a collar, b) putting a harness over the clothes, c) cutting a hole in the clothes for a leash opening or d) sewing a D-ring on everything? I know it's a dumb question, but hopefully someone has found a solution for this. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I'd bought some winter coats that didn't have a hole where I needed it to be. My Mum made a hole where I'd marked I wanted it using the button-hole feature on her sewing machine (I had a sewing machine myself, but I only know how to use the buttonhole thingy). They look great!

| ![]() That semms like a good option. I was hoping for something that maybe wouldn't be so permanent, but that is a good option to keep in mind. I have a sewing machine and am learning to sew, so I think I will try that. After practicing first!!! ![]() ![]()

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Your baby is adorable, love your avatar. Yes, you have come up with several ways to do it. When Joey is wearing clothes, it's generally around the house, not just walks, and the clothes go on first and the harness over that. I use the Buddy Belt harness and it's easy to adjust to go over clothes, you just select a different hole. Any of the other suggestions you named would work too, if you don’t want the harness to show. You can buy some d-rings online, and sew to your favorite outfits, I found some really small ones here, and they are smaller than what you can find at Michaels or Joanne’s, and much cheaper. D Rings, nickle plate, 8 sizes, 2 styles, Welded or Cast You could make a slit in some of the clothing, but it would be good to stitch around the hole, so it won’t rip.

| ![]() Hi, Actually the D rings can be purchased at Walmart in a package. Not too expensive. I make my dog little harness vests. I attach the D ring with a scrap of fabric, a piece of ribbon or a piece of wide bias tape. Very easy to sew on. I don't think they take away from the outfit.

| ![]() I have a lot of outfits without d rings or holes. I put the harness on under the clothing and attach the leash like normal and have it come out the top from underneath the outfit. The type of harness I have velcros on the top of her back and then the clip has double d rings that are between her shoulders so the leash does not have that far to go to be outside the outfit. When I have dresses custom made I have a button hole sewn in the center but very close to the edge of the fabric, so not having one does not make that big of a difference to me.

I put their harnesses under, but their garments allow clipping to the leash. I do like harness vests and dresses, though. Interesting question... ![]()
