| ![]() Sick and Injured This catagory of posts has some of the most heartbreaking stories I have ever read. It's hard to read some of them. I lost three pets this past year (two cats and one dog) and am already afraid that something might happen to the ones I have now. I got a bird a few months ago (have never had one before) and was afraid to go to sleep the first week I had it. But it was still alive seven mornings in a row, so now I'm sleeping better. Then, I got my new Yorkie pup about 3 weeks ago. Now, I'm checking on him often - to make sure he is okay and still breathing - especially after reading some of these sad stories. I guess all we can do is do the best we can..... feed our dogs healthy food, take them to the vet for routine care and when they're sick, and keep them safe from harm. And last, but not least, love them to death. After having lost my pets, I find consolation in knowing that I loved them, took good care of them, and they had a good life. I will still always miss them every day of my life though. Best wishes to all of you who have recently lost your dear little puppies and to those of you whose little pups are so sick right now. I wish I had a magic wand........ Carol Jean |

| ![]() I can relate to the always checking to see if Dollar is breathing. It is like having a real child.

| ![]() Hi. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. I had to have my doggie put down on Thanksgiving and as I was reading all of those posts, I remembered my own baby and I start to cry. One thing you may not know is that Telfon on pots and pans is toxic to birds if it's burned. So just be careful when using those around your birdie. |
