YT Addict | ![]() Lula has been itching at her ears latley. When I peek inside they look clean and I'm terribly afraid to use a q-tip on her. With bigger dogs I have simply used a soft paper towel and my finger. Anyone have any advice on how I should go about cleaning her inner ear?

| ![]() If she's itching, I would definitely take her to the vet - an infected ear can still look clean. If all is well, then... I just use the round cotton pads (the ones used to apply or remove makeup), and only after his tub to make sure the water is all out. I wipe what I can with my finger on the pad, then bend the pad to get a little closer in than I can get with my finger, being careful not to go far in.

She needs to see a vet. She could have an infection and fluid, possibly nothing. Ear mites would be black tar. Your vet can give you a cleaner. | |

YT Addict | ![]() I took her to the vet yesterday. Her ears are spotless. They had very little to work with for the test. At first she thought It might just be an allergy because her ears are so clean but I have not changed her diet in any way. she dosnt have any bugs and her sweaters are my old sweaters cut up. nothing new to her envirnment. They did give me medication to treat an infection just in case. I had asked about cleaning solution and cleaning her ears and they told me that I don't need to clean them. She did tell me to pluck the inner ear hair. So weird.
