| ![]() So for all those who groom your babies yourself. What do you do to keep the poo out of their bum hair. I swear to you my hunni and I are ALWAYS wiping the morning pew off Ella's bum. So here's the question to trim or not to trim the hair around the poo exit? What about the back of the hind legs (I seriously don't know how she gets poo there but she does). |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() I shave a "poop shoot" around my pups bums. Basically, it's just a straight line down. It was a little intimidating at first, but has saved me a lot of extra work.

| ![]() My dogs never have their butt hair trimmed. Teddy has a long coat and the other two have mid-length coats. I don't have poo problems...on occasion if someone gets the runs, I pop them in the sink and wash them.

| ![]() I do all my own grooming and I do a sanitary trim on all my dogs!! I use an Oster Trimmer with a 40 blade and cut all the tan hair near the little poop hole ![]() ![]()

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() I bought a small electric trimmer (made by Oster) to do the job. It's actually made to do the face and ears, but it's small enough to do their bum without leaving a huge swatch.

| ![]() I use an electric clipper on my little Memphis. Hubby holds him in a reverse football hold and I shave a small swath to keep the poopie hang on's away. It's worked like a charm and we haven't had any problems in that area. |

| ![]() Thank you all. My older one doesn't really have this problem (more with him eating my hair because it falls out everywhere and dingle berries hang from those) but... I've come to the conclusion that Ella has poo butt because of her diet and it was making her poo too soft. We switched foods and all is better! |
