Hi Everyone,

I have noticed for the past weeks Empanada has had very dry skin. When I take him to get a bath they use oatmeal shampoo it seems to help, but within a few days he's back to dry skin. Anyone else have this problem and what can I do help it.

My Yorkie has a couple of dry spots as well. Curious to know what to do.

Try bathing him with a conditioner instead of shampoo for a little while, that may help with the dryness. How often do you shampoo him? If you shampoo too often that can also cause dryness. Just some ideas

We also have had that itchy skin so much cause of allergy reaction, we went to a soap free shampoo after trying several oatmeal types, ones recommended by both the vet and the groomer, the one we are on now, and it seems to be working is call earthbath I bought it at petsmart. And no conditioner cause that can be irritating

. Because of all of our allergy problems we have had to go to a summer cut too. OH, one more thing, for the itchys, I also got at the petsmart a hydrocortisone lotion, I checked w/the vet she saw it pronounced it OK, I rub this on Sprockets hind legs and rear end and across his chest. Then the fun part

, I put him in a baby onsie til the cream settles in, not a happy camper, but it seams to be working. Hope this helps and good luck hope just changing the shampoo works for you.
