My Lucy has a yeast infection in her ears - YorkieTalk.com Forums

When we took our Lucy to the vet for her first checkup we found out she had a yeast infection in her ears. She has bald spots on the back of her ears which I am assuming are from scratching them so much? Will the hair grow back once the infection is gone? Has anyone elses baby had this before?

Thanks. She is not scratching as much I think the drops are starting to work, poor thing.

Aw I am sorry to hear that Lucy isn't well.
I'm sure the hair will grow back now she has stopped scratching, I wish her a speedy recovary!

The hair will grow back. I hope she feels better soon. Make sure after you keep the hair pulled out of the inside of the ears.

Jada and Bogie both have yeast infections in both of their ears. Jada is worse than Bogie. She has to go back to vet tomorrow as she is itching from behind her front legs up to her head now

We are thinking it is food allergies, because that is the only change in the last 6 weeks. She is scratching so bad I had to put an e-collar and long sleeve t-shirt on her to keep her from damaging her skin. The hair should grow back on your baby, just try to keep her from scratching too much, it could cause an infection from the scratches.

Jadabug that is awefull I hope your baby gets better too My Lucy isn't scratching all over really just her ears but I heard you have to watch it with different foods. I want to switch Lucy from Iams to Royal Canin..plan on doing so soon her breeder had her on Iams smart puppy she doesn't like it much.

Maxx had a yeast ear infection on our first vet visit too. She was shaking his head ans scratching every once in a while, so he never removed any hair. The medicine seemed to work quickly, we used it for 14 days. When I put the drops in I also massaged the area under the ear canal, it would make a squishy sound so I knew it was getting inside well. Every few days I would also put a little cleaner on a cotton ball and wipe his ears out.

When we went back to the Vet she said I did a great job and his ears were totally cleared up. She said most people don't get the medicine down far enough.

yeah we werent massaging them either we had better start to make sure we get the rest of it down this week..

She goes crazy after we put them in and shakes her ears and gets it all over us hahaha.

Max absolutely hated the ear drops, and would run his head against the ground and try to get it out. So i just had to hold him, holding his head close to me for several minutes. Then I'd let him go run crazy lol
