| ![]() Hello. I have a lil yorkie boy that will turn 3 this year. I have had him since he was 4 wks old and he has been the only dog. He is very spoiled and very attached to me. I recently got a new puppy and now my yorkie is very jealous and his feelings are hurt. He won't eat a lot and will not play. He wants me to hold hime 24/7 (which i do) but i was wondering if anyone has advice. He tolerates the new puppy but is also scared of him. |

| ![]() Give him time. They're going to have to figure out their family dynamics amongst themselves. Just made sure to greet him first, feed him first, and give him kisses first and then the puppy. That'll show him that you still love him and he's still your baby.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Welcome. Congrats on the new puppy. Like the others said just give them more time. Always feed, give treats to, say hello to etc to your older baby first and give him a little extra attention when you can. In no time they will become good pals.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | ![]() Im in exactly the same position, my older cross breed dog is 11 years old and we brought our new yorkie pup home a week ago. My older dog we have had since she was 3 and she is a spoilt brat lol! Since we brought our yorkie home my older dog has gone in the huff and at first she wouldnt even stay in the same room as the pup. My older dog is a bit scared of her too as when my pup wanders over to her she runs away... but shes coming round a bit, she now sits in the same room but is still very quiet and jelous. I think they will just need time to get used to the situation and hopefully they will come round to the idea ![]()
