Bad yorkie teeth

I just picked up 2 yorkies that have VERY BAD teeth. some are missing and others should be missing. The gums look infected too. Does anyone have a remedy to relieve the pain for these dogs untill I get them to the vet? Also is there a way to clean them somewhat myself for now? I prob. won't be able to get them in untill later next week.

unfortunately i don't think there is any way for you to clean them right now that will offer any benefit. A professional dental, complete with blood work and possibly x-rays, is the best bet. Until them give them soft food if you think it hurts them to eat, or if you give kibble, moisten it with water.

Another week is not going to make a difference..a dental will take care of the problem...best wishes

I have to recommend that you do absolutely nothing to their mouths. Dogs with dental disease carry a boatload of bacteria, and if you do anything to cause their gums to bleed such as brushing, you could open a gateway for the bacteria to get directly into their bloodstream. Definitely soft food only...

Maybe call your vet as they will need to be put on antibiotics for a few days before a dental is done...
