| ![]() hello. i desided to breed my yorkie for myself (i used to breed cats a while ago, but after my husband brought this little yorkie to me, i fell in love and converted from cat person to a complete yorkie fan!). she is 7pounds and a great puppy! her name is Cherrie. she is 2+ years old, in her third heat.she is never been pregnant before. her heat started on december12, so i contacted our stud. on dec. 20 & 22 they had outside tie. stud fathered 9 litters. on dec. 22 me and studs owner desided to try artificial insemination, because we wasn't sure if the outside tie worked (they never got stuck for more than 1 minute), when the vet started to get the sample of males semen, he was empty. so you think he did shoot it in her in outside tie? next day when we tried again, my girl didn't want to do it anymore, even though the male was very interested. after that she stoped having discharge. today (dec.29) and yesterday my female had a discharge coming, kind of milkish color, and with some blood, and a little smelly. her vulva is still enlarge. so could she be pregnant? and why she still discharging? she does act a little depressed, she always wants to be near me, and she want to go for a walk a lot. i know that we can't know if she is pregnant till she is 30 days past, but i am a little worried because of the discharge still showing and the smell. her genetals smell. i just don't want her to get an infection or anything. can you please help me. |

| ![]() Geez Im not a breeder but perhaps if her vagina smells and is leaking discharge could it be possible that she has an infection? If you tried artificial insemenation was everything sterile??? I would think that smell and discharge might mean infection , again Im not a breeder. Has she seen the vet??? ![]()

| ![]() that what i am thinking too. its not too much of the discharge but its the smell that is concern to me. i called my breeder mentor, she said that sometimes before their heat stops it has milky discharge. AI was not performed due to lack of semen on studs part, i guess that he did get her than ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() I would take her to a vet ASAP. What do you know about the stud, was he tested for health issues, diseases....? Dogs can have STDs just like humans and that is the first thing that came into my mind. All the best for her quick recovery. |

that what i am thinking. i checked stud paperwork before everything. studs owner, she is a breeder, she garanteed that he is healthy and has no problems. but now, a week after intercorse she smells. right now i smelled her, she seems fine, and she doesnot have a discharge at the moment, but she might of cleaned herself. ![]() | |

| ![]() thank you. on dec. 12 she started having bloody discharge, and on dec. 20 it stoped, she had yellowish discharge, she flagged, she was standing for stud. that is why we started to breed them. but after 22 she stoped flagging and didn't want to do it anymore. that is why we stoped trying to do it later on. we followed her instincts. when i called my breeder about milky discharge, she said some females have it before their heat stops, i just wanted to make sure that she is right. i am not sure if she is preggie or not. could it be studs discharge coming out smelly (i read that sperm lives for 5 days in female) ![]()

| ![]() It is not unusual for a female to flag for a male before she is ready to breed. Yes, sperm can live 5 to 7 days. How old was the male you used? |

2 years old also. they had 2 ties, for a little over a minute each. he got stuck with her only for so long. why after 2 ties she didn't want to do it anymore? and shortly after that she stoped discharging and flagg?! ![]()

| ![]() It is possible she could be pregnant. As for her behavior, over the years I have seen all kinds of odd behavior. Each female is different. |

| ![]() Hi! I took my girl to the vet, and he said that she is fine. he could not tell if she was preggie, because its been too little time. so i guess i will have to wait and see. she does act different, she is always with me, and she is resting most of a time, i take her for a walk every day, so she will be active, but she is very calm. that is not like her. ![]()
