Hi everyone! I have a very normal question I guess but I couldn't find an answer for it anywhere so here it goes... MiMo is 5 months, around 5lbs and I wanted to change his food to something better. When we first brought him home we asked the breeder what she was feeding him and that's what we've been doing but I would surely love to give him something else. So right now MiMo gets a package of Cesar puppy in the morning and then he freely feeds himself of Fred Meyer brand Super Premium Nutra Nuggets Puppy along the day whenever he wants to. He eats it no problem and loves it but... it ain't the best thing I know... He loves the Cesar, he wakes us up (always around sunrise

) to get it and I did try other brands of wet food but his stomach got upset with all of them, even organic good stuff... so I came right back to Cesar. Should I wait longer to change? What do you advise? He's a really happy, jumping and playfull puppy, I guess he's getting all the nutrients and vitamins but I want the best for him! And when should I switch to adult food? All the help is much appreciated! Thank you!

Well, maybe swith over his kibble first - once you find one like. Brands I like are Orijen, Solid Gold's Barking at the Moon, Wellness, Innova. Do a slow switch, get him settled.

Then try wet - but just a bit at a time. Wellness has some good ones.

I agree with Wylie's Mom. All the food mentioned is considered good food.
My question to you is have you discussed with your breeder what your puppy's estimated weight will be at maturity? 5 pounds at 5 months seems pretty heavy. In most cases if you're feeding the recommended serving printed on the bag you'll have an overweight dog. You should be able to feel the ribs but not see them.

Thank you so much for your replies, I read somewhere in here that the Cesar food is for dogs the same has McDonalds to us (whats the problem with McD?

) so i figured it wasn't good but he just loves it and I'm not sure about the 5 pounds, he doesn't quite stay still on the scale... but he was 4 pounds at 4 months and the vet said that was great. We just gave him a haircut and he actually looks pretty thin, I can't see the ribs but sure can feel them. The breeder said he's gonna be between 6 and 7 lb, I'm gonna take him to the vet this week and make sure his weight is ok. I give him a single serve package of cesar a day and then he eats the kibble whenever he wants, he takes two days usually to finish his bowl, it's a small one. Thank you!
