I've written about this before, but still I don't know what to do

. My one year old is always wet from his face because his eyes are always teary. The only time his face is dry is when he is sleeping

and when he has barely woken up. It's not just a little wet. It's wet enough to the point that I can see his skin and where his whiskers start, on that area of his face. I still think he looks adorable

, but I'm mostly worried about his health and how comfortable he feels. I wipe his face with baby wipes, but his little face still stinks sometimes.
Is there something I can do to stop, at least, most of the tearing

? Are there any eye drop that I can use? I know someone had mentioned something with apple cider, but I wouldn't know what to do with that

You put a little vinegar in the water.I have also heard distilled water helps.

Have his eyes been examined by an opthamologist? He may have blocked tear ducts or a condition called Distichiasis where the eyelashes grow into eyes.

I haven't. but I did take him to the vet. When I took him he had just woken up, so it wasn't as noticeable. The vet said it was normal and that it happens to little dogs, but I haven't really seen it on other small dogs; at least not as bad. The vet gave me some massages to do on my little boy, but it didn't help.. I think i'll look more into it. Thanks!

Ask your vet for a referral to an ophthalmologist. Lady has been going to one for several years because of her eye problems. Regular vets just don't have the expertise and equipment to examine their eyes unless it's a very simple problem.

It's really not that much more expensive, either. The office visit is $15 more than my vet, but all the basic tests and prescriptions were less so it ended up about the same.

About a week or so but if it dosen't clear up I would do what Ladymom said and take him to see a ophthalmologist.
