| ![]() HI to my yorkie loving comrades: I have a 2 year old female yorkie, question will she welcome a another yorkie? she has never been around other dogs...had a kitten playmate but it vanished...she I should add is very spoiled...demands/seeks attention constantly and of course she get it. It is only my husband and I and with change of jobs we are gone alot. We are thinking of getting another yorkie so she has company and I think they are so darn cute I want another one! But, will Sassie accept another dog, since she has been the queen for so long? We are also thnking of maybe just breeding her and keeping one, but...I have heard of awful risks involved there. Sassie is 4.5lbs. Please send some advice ![]() |

My Sadie was 2 when we brought Lillie home...Sadie, like your Sassie, ruled the roost..very spoiled, always on our laps...came EVERYWHERE with us...Then we got Lillie...It took Sadie SEVERAL weeks to accept her new fursister...eventually she did...they play together all the time...I'm not saying Sadie absolutely LOVES her fursister but they do get along...no fighting, they eat out of the same dish, play with the same toys, although Sadie has been know to hide her toys then take Lillies...Hubby and I also were away from the house most of the day...getting a second yorkie was the best thing we did for Sadie... On the breeding....I'm not a breeder, we have some good ones on here that will be able to help you out more, but, I don't think they would recommend breeding under 5 lbs. There is so much that can happen to these little ones...If I were you I would research, research, research all that I could before I would take this step. It may be less expensive for you to buy another one than to risk your little Sassie having to go through a c-section (which is costly) or worse...losing her...JMO Good luck in what ever you choose to do!
