| ![]() My 3 year old kitty has recurring problems with ear mites! We have two cats in the house - ages 2 and 3. One doesn`t seem to be bothered by the ear mites that have taken over our other kitty`s ears! I`ve treated Salem for ear mites three times now. They seem to keep coming back. ![]() I thought we beat them last time I had to treat her - like 5 or 6 months ago. I guess not! ![]() I have been using some Hartz drops - vet said those should be just fine. I`m working on another Hartz 7 day treatment with her and feel SO bad for her. Is there *anything* anyone knows of to help her with the stringing and the pain when she scratches her ears? I would love it if she could just stop scratching and be relieved for a little while. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

| ![]() Ive used mineral oil in treating ear mites....just a few drops in each ear...then rub the ears so it gets in there good....some times ear mites cause ear infections..if this happens...use 1 part distaled water with 1 white vinegar...and use it as a ear wash. do this a couple times a day. If that dont work go see your vet again. here is a link you might be interested reading HowStuffWorks "Home Remedies for Cats With Ear Mites" |

| ![]() I know mine had ear mites once & the vet prescribed some drops that got rid of them. I don't remember what it was but know it was dispensed from the vet. ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Mix vinegar and water 50/50 and put a few drops in their ears daily.

| ![]() No experience with kitty ear mites but Google "hartz death". Some of their products are very, very dangerous. I would tell your vet to give you something worth using.
