| ![]() Puppy classes are a great way to help you bond with your puppy. Regarding the Nutro, the person you spoke with prob works for Nutro not Pet Smart. I used to feed Milo Nutro untill all the recalls a couple of years back and they had some issues so I switched to Natural Balance I believe they have had recent issues as well. I actually called my local petco and Nutro to complain about there sales rep in my store. I was shopping one day with my niece and dog Milo and was approched by there sales rep about the food and he told me that he would pray for my dog since I did not feed it Nutro, hinting that something bad would happen to him. I found it very unproffessional and rude of the man especialy in front of a small child. It seems Nutro did not seem to be bothered by him saying this because I still see him but at Pet Smart not Petco. I was told by the manager they were having too many complaints about the man. |

| ![]() My second pup was fed Nutro by the breeder and then posted something on the food on this website and found out a lot about their recalls and deaths/illnesses caused by this food. I switched to Wellness and it was worked well for both my little ones.

| ![]() puppy classes at petsmart are great. we took our first girl Shorty there when we first got her. she learned bunch of commands, how to walk nicely on leash, and more importantly, the classes help so much with socialization especially when its a bigger class. about Nutro, I wouldn't recommend, neither would I recommend Iams or Purina. there are quite a few premium dog food like Nature's variety, wellness, EVO (not good for puppies though), etc which offer better quality ingridients to meet your puppy's nutrition needs. when you feed a puppy premium food, it takes less to fill her up, so its really not that much more expensive!

| ![]() How old is Maya? Puppies should not go to grooming salons, pet stores or puppy classes until they have had their full set of shots plus two weeks for full immunity. Shots should not be started until they are 9-10 weeks old. Any earlier and the maternal antibodies she got from nursing just kill the virus in the vaccine and leave her completely unprotected from dangerous disease like parvo. Parvo lives on surfaces for months and kills all too many puppies, even puppies who have two out of three shots. "In one study of a cross section of different puppies the age at which they were able to respond to a vaccine and develop protection covered a wide period of time. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks of age, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks of age, 95% of the puppies could be immunized." Parvovirus: Serious Diarrhea in Puppies & Dogs Purina is a terrible food. All the food you find in the grocery store is made form the waste of the human food industry, the not-fit-for-human-consumption byproducts. Get The Facts Unfortunately, Nutro is not a good choice either. ![]() Consumer complaints about Nutro Pet Foods This is a really good thread that will help you chose a good food for Maya: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html |

| ![]() Nutro, unfortuantely is not a good recommendation for Yorkies either ![]() I personally feed INNOVA puppy (lots of YT'ers feed this as well) it is a great food for a growing Yorkie Puppy! after Gucci is an adult I will switch over to EVO made by the Innova Company. Other recommendations are: Orijen Nature's Variety Natural Balance (Dick Van Patten) Wellness and I am sure others can add more. These are all GREAT Foods for Yorkies and any other dogs. I know they can be a bit pricey but really there is NO COST for your babies health and nutrition and if you think about how little they eat (as you already have ![]() Hope that helps!! Can't wait to see the pics of her grooming.. ![]() |

| ![]() Thank you all for your help & really helpful information. I am sooo shocked to hear about Nutro...and now im freaking out because I gave my baby the new food tonight. I only mixed in a little with the reg food she has been eating so her belly does not get upset. I hope she does not get sick ![]()

| ![]() Your baby looks adorable ![]() I am certain that you are a a great human mom and love your pup dearly. I know how difficult it is to find the best food out there for your pup , and the healthiset. there are so many to choose from. My Suzi was also on Purina puppy Chow when I first brought her home. ![]()
