![]() We never let Lucky run outside because she doesn't come when she is called. We wouldn't let her free at our condo, but my husband's parents have a lot of land in the country, and we would like to let her run there, as long as we know she'll come back. I have heard that dogs are more likely to notice and pay attention to a dog whistle than human words because they are not used to hearing such a loud, high pitched sound. I am wondering if we could train Lucky to come when we use a dog whistle. Has anyone tried this? Does it actually hurt their ears, even if they are not too close to the whistle?

![]() Hmm, I haven't heard of anyone using a whistle, but I do know a lot of people use clickers with good success. They are like $2 (or less) at a Petco or Petsmart. Have you tried that?

![]() I never heard of usung a dog whistle. Like fasteddie said you can use a clicker. Maybe you can train her in a small area, and when she comes praise her. Then keep making ht area where she plays bigger until she learns to come everytime you call. I have the same problem with Gucci, she comes when I say "cookie", and I give her a treat. I have a clicker but so fari havent being succesful.
