we have about 100 families in our town in local motels. This was the first place they stopped that actually had vacancies.

It is so sad. We are about 5 hours form New Orleans on I-10. Our City is full, even the Ford center has about 1,500 staying there. A lot of people are fostering pets that are at a local shelter. Today on the news people are now giving up ther pet because they have nothing to go back to. It brakes my heart for the people and there pets.

I hope all those affected are doing well. . . . . . Our business is collecting donations and we are going to match it and donate it to give it to the red cross. My prayers are with you guys who are affected.....

TY so much for posting the link. I have all of the people affected by this disaster in my prayers. I feel so sad , so many has lost everything and they are so many dead.

Does anyone know if there is a way to foster pets that were left behind? or are they just euthanizing them?

I hope those poor animals are not being euthanized. I guess you can call the Humane Society to find out about fostering. I just feel so bad for all those people. If you get information please post here, maybe other members can also help.

Since , day one of Katrina , some friends and I went to pet stores and have puppy - dog food and kitten - cat food and it is going to be distributed to shelters . The transportation have been arranged , it will be sent tonight .
