| ![]() Hello ALL!!! ![]() My baby boy Jaxon is a LICKER.... when i say he licks EVERYTING all the time, I am not kidding. Sure dogs lick and some lick often but Jaxon is a different case. I times him today, he licked my arm for 7 minutes and 15 seconds!! He only stopped because I moved away! He licks the kitchen floor (obvious reasons), the dresser, body parts, himself, potty pads, sofas NONSTOP! At first I thought he was thirsty but his little nose is always wet, then I thought he may just like the saltiness of the skin, but that doesnt explain his licking of objects. I googled it (which I probably shouldn't have) and ppl said he may have neurological issues ![]() He's licking me right now! Has anyone experienced this licking addiction? |

| ![]() I have the same problem, with my boomer, a few nites ago we went bye bye to pick up my daughter after a ball game. He started licking me the seats the console anything he could and he is still doing it, I thought the same thing he must be thirsty, but his bowl is always filled, and his nose is wet also. It has been such a big problem for my husband, it irritates him, so I guess I am going to have to take him to the vet. If I find anything out I'll let you know. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Bentley does this too, but only when hes tired or just wakes up. Its kinda cute actually. i think its a comfort thing cause he presses and "kneads" my arm or the blanket with his paws like a cat does. after a while the licking of my arm gets annoying but ill usually just give him a different part of my arm to lick cause it feels weird when he licks the same spot for too long hehehe

| ![]() You need to determine between your dog just licking every once in a while to be friendly or obsessive licking where it is just a compulsive behavior like thumb sucking in a child If you think it might be compulsive it's usually because they aren't stimulated enough and the licking is a way for them to calm themselves try to get him tuckered out go for long walks take him to the dog park play fetch and see if the licking diminishes
