| ![]() Hey Sandy2 I just want to welcome you here to YT. This site is awesome and very helpful. Juicy also had the same problem so at 6 months when we went to get her fixed the vet also took them out. I searched in on here when I was going wondering what to do as well and many people got them taken out when they spay/neuter their baby. I also read that some people wait a year to see if they fall out.

| ![]() Give your baby more chew toys, ropes, etc. Try to play tug-a-war more often and you might actually help some of the teeth come out on their own. If you find them loose while brushing the teeth, wiggle them gently to help them come loose. In a couple more months, if they're all still in, or if some are out and some still firmly in place, you should get the retained puppy teeth extracted by the vet. If you plan on neutering him, you may consider getting his retained puppy teeth pulled at that time so that he wouldn't need to be put under anesthetics twice. My baby's teeth started coming off around 6-8 months though she didn't have her adult teeth start coming in until sometime around her 5th month. Some came off with a little bit of encouragement, others by her own power chewing. By her tenth month, she had 3 fangs and 1 small front one left which seemed firmly set in place. So off to the vet she went. Depending on the size of your boy, you may not want to wait too long if they came in early because eventually, the retained teeth may affect the little adult teeth, and of course, retained puppy teeth may cause future health problems. Good luck with your little boy! ![]() |

| ![]() we just went to the vet for the same thing, my little one had all 4 canine teeth. the vet said to wait for two months and we'll see if they fall out on their own, if not they'll have to take them out. within the week 3 of the 4 fell out. we have until late Feb for the other one to fall out. my vet said they will cause problems if not take out eventually but wanted to give them time. |

| ![]() Toby had six baby teeth removed when we had him neutered, other than being sore on both ends for a couple of days, he was fine. It is my understanding that the retained teeth can promote gum disease if they are left into adulthood.
