| Red bumps on neck :( Jaxon has had these red numps on the back of his neck for about 3-4 weeks. The vet told me there was no need to bring him in if he wwasnt scratching him and if he wasnt acting funny. WELLLL TODAY, I put his flea meds on him and he started going CRAZY! I figured out AFTER that I probably put the meds on his bumps and if scabs and bumps are anything like humans, it more than likely really burned. So I put him in the tub and gave him a bath. Now that he is dry, he is very relaxed and just laying around ((not tyopical jaxon behavior at all)). He is just laying on my lap right now and I am very concerned. I dont even want to go to bed because I am so scared for him! HELP!!! OH, but he is eating and drinking.... |

| Gizmo had little bumps all over and around his neck area and it turned out to be a staph infection. I never would have thought it, but the vet was positive. So, you might want to take him in just to see. Gizmo's showed up a few days after a professional grooming. Has your yorkie been groomed recently?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Agree w/ Marci - make sure gums are pink. If the bumps aren't open, it should be okay - but it does tell you how vulnerable that area is for him. Personally, I wouldn't take your vet's advice and just let this ride - like Judy said, it could be staph; it could be other things as well. I'd take him in to get it looked at and I'd ask for a skin scraping for sure. Skin conditions can get wayyyy out of hand - just read this forum for evidence. All the best to little Jaxon, I do hope he is feeling better.

| i love yorkietalk... everyone is so helpful! WELLLL, I have not had him groomed lately and his gums are pink... Since I am getting him neutered next thursday, should I just wait and have them check it out then? Or do you all think it is more serious and I should go asap? THANKS |
