| ![]() OK I am trying to get my two dogs used to each other. I have Kirby, 7 years old rat terrier and Muffin 12 week old Yorkie. the vet told me to let them be around each other as much as possible. Kirby is still pretty standoffish most times. She chases him when I take them outside and then he chases her too. He sniffs her up and down but doesn't really play with her. I think she just got tired of it today and starting terrorizing him. she chased him all over the place and jumped in his face several times. She cornered him a time or two and growled at him and he growled a bit too. They both wag their tails around each other so I don't think they will fight. At least I hope not. Does this sound ok? I am waiting for the day when I can trust them both together unsupervised.

| ![]() sounds like they are being playful to me. Sometimes the growling can be playful.

| ![]() Is this your first Yorkie? If so you are in for a treat. I have 5 and when they start to play tag it sounds like a pack of Tasmainian devils eatting. They are so loud and run and jump and tear up and down the house. It's fun to watch and loud to hear. I don't know if Kirby had anyone to play with him the way he would have with his brothers and sisters but either he's going to act like an old dog(which he's not) or he's going to go into puppy mode and you'll have two whirling dirvishes in your house and yard. Good luck, LOL |
