ok... i took Troy's temp at 9pm and it was up to 100.3. so i was thinking that maybe it wouldn't be soon. well now, 10pm and she is panting and moving around a lot. still laying but she keeps changing positions. does this sound like possible the beginning stage I? should i take her temp again? should i stay up with her?

Unfortunately not all dogs seem to follow the rules of whelping so it is very possible she is in stage 1. Could she just be too warm and that is causing the panting? I would keep her in my room or close by if possible. Wish I was going to be up longer if you needed anything but I have to hit it. So best wishes to you!

maybe so. i sprayed some water in her mouth and opened up the blankets that are covering the table her box is under. we shall see!
