Have you heard about Starlight Yorkies?

I want another puppy so Jackson will have a brother or sister and found one on her site. But when I called her, I asked her about housetraining (the one i want was born in 05 and is an adult) and she said, "Oh he's a kennel dog. He's never inside. He goes wherever."

I was like 'Come again????" That isn't right. But it makes me want him even more knowing he's being treated that way.

What should I do?

I've just got to bump this....sorry. I'm seriously considering getting that poor baby. To think, he's in a kennel right now and its freezing outside and so windy....it just breaks my heart.

Many breeders and show breeders keep their dogs in a heated and air conditioned building away from the house (I could never do that personally). These dogs are not house trained because they have been raised in a environment where they just go where ever. Some dog owners have rooms in their homes just for their dogs because they don't want them running all over the house marking. It does not necessarily mean the dogs are not well taken care of, it just means they have not been trained on potty pads or to go outside. I certainly hope that is what that lady means and that the dog is not actually outside in the cold.

Ahh, I'm praying for these babies. I truley hope they are well taken care of. I'm not meaning to bash any breeder when I don't know anything but what they've given me on their website adn what they've said over the phone. I was just a bit put off by her.

If I'm not mistaken, the breeder I'm getting my puppy from got her original Yorkie from starlight kennels. I'd have to double check with her to be sure though.
