| ![]() Hi! Do you have any helpful hints on how to make our Yorkie coats real shiny? Is there any natural products out there that you would recommend? I am presently using EarthBath shampoo and conditioner, as well as Pantene, to prevent tangles. These all work well but I do not see a super shiny coat. Remi has a beautiful dark coat and he would look awesome with more shine. Thanks to everyone! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good Nutrition - a shiny coat starts with good nutrition, so feed your dog a high quality dog food, especially one with essential fatty acids. Omega 3 – Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid found in oils from fish and some plants. Without enough Omega 3, your dog may experience a dull and dry coat. To make your dog shine, try giving her an Omega 3 supplement. Exercise – just as we humans benefit from healthier hair and skin if we exercise regularly, so too do dogs. Exercise will stimulate blood and oxygen flow, bringing your dog's coat nutrients it needs to shine. Bathing - Be sure to use a high quality shampoo so that you do not strip your dog's coat of its healthy natural oils, which also contribute to shine. Use a conditioner. Grooming – brushing and grooming your dog's coat will stimulate production of the natural oils that keep your dog's for healthy and shiny. Massage your dog - Not only will it relax her, make her feel good and is a great way to bond, massage will improve your dog's blood circulation, bringing nutrients to your dog's coat.

| ![]() I use Quicker Slicker. i bought it to use on my show girl but have started using it on the others too. it comes in a spray bottle and you spray just a little on a wet coat and dry it as you brush. |
