| ![]() I know every one has different opinions on pet food and you have all been helpful to me. I was just wondering if any of you had used or have an opinion about nutro ultra holistic dog food. ![]()

| ![]() It's okay. Nothing special. Tomatoes are associated with heart arrhythmias in dogs, especially the leaves, I think. I wouldn't feed it everyday. What is poultry fat and why can't they name the animal they use? Menadione isn't good either.

| ![]() I used the ultra, and mine liked it, plus it did cut down on the pooping and the poop in the 2 outside dogs was smaller, but, I prefer the nutro natural that they're on now, and they all like it.. |

| ![]() I use Nutro products... I tried to use the Nutro Ultra (they were out of the Nutro Natural Choice wet puppy food and I needed something for them) and my girls didn't like it.. So I gave it to my boyfriends dog and he didn't like it I use Natural Choice Lamb and Rice wet puppy food (2 spoonfuls for each) and then I leave Natural Choice Chicken and Rice small puppy bites (itsa green bag with a beagle on it) for them all day.. I haven't had runny poop or anything since I've had them on it.. Theres better food out there but I like Natural Choice be/c its easily available to me in my town (and i haven't had anything go wrong).. I tried Royal Canin (didn't like it), Purina Puppy Chow (I use it as a treat ![]()

| ![]() I have tried some of the better foods and they give her runny poop, is this common. I did the 25% integration when switching and even waited a few weeks but with both blue buff, and royal canin she got sick. This is the only thing that has helped.

| ![]() Yes, not all dogs handle the "excellent" food very well... Nutro works for them so thats what I'll stick to... A friend of mine with 4 yorkies feeds Purina Puppy Chow and it works for all of them.. Just feed what works well for you..

| ![]() Before I say anything about Nutro actually, they have had a few times where they were recalled, just so you know... The good thing I saw about Nutro Ultra is that there is NO BY PRODUCT IN IT!!! This is very important!!!! It is also important that the first ingredient be some kind of meat, like Chicken or Chicken Meal.... Lamb or Lamb Meal... It should NEVER be corn first. Corn is just filler, and if its first it means its used most in the food! Corn is good, but never as the first ingredient... Also, Like I said, make sure it doesnt say "Chicken BY PRODUCT" or "Lamb BY PRODUCT"... all the word By Product means is that its parts of the animal that have no good to them... Like the feet, beaks, ears, all that stuff that serves no purpose... and its just gross.... Also, I have been reading quite a few things saying that many of the dog foods contain... ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???? Euthanized dogs and cats... I read this quite a few places, but strays that never get adopted & get put to sleep... Some places send them to factories to be turned into "meal" and then they are putting this in our dogs food!!!! This makes me nauceous, and there is a list of the dog foods (mostly commercial) that have this in it.... Customers BEWARE for your BABIES!

| ![]() This is a list of ingredients to stay away from... Why? Because theyre things that arent acceptable in HUMAN Grade... and if we don't accept them in our food, why would we accept them in the animal we loves food?? This is from FeedMyPet.com 1Meat by-products: Pet grade meat by-products consist of organs and parts either not desired, or condemned, for human consumption. This can include bones, blood, intestines, lungs, ligaments, heads, feet, and feathers. 2Corn Product: Corn products are difficult for dogs to digest. 3Food Fragments: Lower cost by-products of another food manufacturing process. Examples include wheat bran and brewer's rice (a waste product of the alcohol industry). 4Meat and bone meal: "Meat and bone meal" and "beef and bone meal" are inexpensive sources of animal protein. The protein in a meal containing a large amount of bone may be poorly digestible and fail to provide adequate nutrition. 5Animal Fat: Animal fat is a "generic" fat source that is most often made up of rendered animal fat, restaurant grease, or other oils too rancid or deemed inedible for humans. Look for a named fat source, such as poultry or chicken fat, that is naturally preserved. 6Chemical Preservatives: Chemical preservatives include butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), propyl gallate, propylene glycol (also used as a less-toxic version of automotive antifreeze), and ethoxyquin. BHA, BHT, and ethoxyquin are potentially cancer-causing agents. The long term build-up of these chemicals (that may be eaten every day for the life of your pet!) have not been thouroughly studied and may ultimately be harmful. 7Sweeteners: Sweeteners such as corn syrup, sugar, and cane mallases are usually added to lower quality foods to increase their appeal. Dietary sugars can aggrevate health problems, including diabetes. 8Beef Tallow: A low quality fat product. Hope thats helpful ![]()

| ![]() Anytime it comes to my babies, I'm always on the lookout. My Chihuahua's are 13 (he's the Daddy) and his daughter is 12. Chico & Mutzi !! They are still in good health and still goin!!! Chico and Mutzi have been getting Innova for a long time now. It's a very good dog food. But, I have been having trouble switching Roxy over, she gets the diarrhea too easy and it scares me. I tried switching her once, and without the Eukanuba she had diarrhea for a little over a week!!! Poor baby.
