My Lily had a pup 14 days ago and just started having diahrreah with blood in it! The pup is doing great, gaining weight beautifully. I took Lily in to see the vet and he gave her a penicillin injection and gave her two antibiotics that I need to give her 2 times a day. One is for two days and the other for one week. She also was given a liquid for the next two days. He said she probably has colitis. The vet said that it was ok for the pup to still. Has anyone else experienced this before? I am worried for Lily.

Ask the vet to give her a shot to clear it up asap...feed her rice and chicken until her stomach settles a bit. An antibotic kills the good bacteria as well as the bad..I give mine a bit of Yoghart aslo.

I took her in right away and the vet gave her a penicillin shot and two different antibiotics. He also gave her a liquid diet for 2 days. She hasn't had any diahrreah since this morning.
