Lots of happy tears at Christmas...told family pregnant

Everyone was surprised. I gave three grandparents a picture frame that said I love my Grandma or Grandpa with the poem in it from unborn baby. My sisters, aunt and one Grandma and hubby's dad each got a baby bib with the poem in it. I made my stepdaughter and niece personalized diaper duty bag with safety glasses, gloves, diapers, baby lotion, wipes ect. They all loved it and we video taped their reactions as well as took pictures. A lot of people cried, including me each time we told family. We had 4 sets of family Christmas's. I was worn out by the last one.

My mother n law took her picture frame and poem into work with her she was so excited to tell everyone she was going to be a Grandma again.

My mom did not get it. My sisters, niece and stepdaughter already knew by the time we had Christmas with mom. I got her a pillow that said when a baby is born so is a Grandma with the poem in the middle where 4 x 6 picture goes. She looked at the pillow and said it was cute and laid it down because she thought it was from my niece and nephew. My sister said mom you need to read it. She said I did it is a grandma pillow. She again said mom you need to read it. Mom started reading it out loud and when she got to the due date she burst into tears. Then the rest of us did too. So my mom, me, both sisters and stepdaughter were in tears.


Everyone said it was the best Christmas present. I am glad we waited until Christmas. I loved getting their reactions on tape.

Yesterday my sister gave me tummy lotion for stretch marks and another thing of stretch mark lotion and a pair of granny panies tied up in a bow. She is just too excited about it. She brought it into work. We all got a good laugh. Not sure if the lotion works, but I will be sure to use it.

I told people at work by making a cake that said pink or blue guess who? They went to break and opened the cake lid. I was not back there yet because I had a phone call. As I headed down the hall one of the girls was coming looking for me. She said are you. Then I burst into tears. I have now developed a few more mothers at work telling me what I should not be doing, like lifting this or that and good things to eat. They were all excited too.

I told my best friend by hand delivering her Christmas card that said from us and baby. She got it right off the bat and was so excited too.

I hear my mother has already been looking at cribs.

I ended up giving hubby the Harley Davidson hats. He loved them. He says we don't need the pink one because we are having a boy. Thanks Patty for getting those.

When we took my stepdaughter home she wanted to tell her mom and everyone there she was going to be a big sister. We went in with her for her to tell everyone. We got her a car for Christmas. She told them that me and her dad got her something else better than the car. She brought out her diaper duty bag. They did not get it so she told them she was going to be a big sister. Her mother broke out in tears. Of course, then I did too AGAIN. Everyone is so excited for us and lots of happy tears this Christmas.

Here again is the poem I used.

I do not have a face to see,
Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss,
I don’t yet have a name.

You can’t yet hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.

Or cuddle me so near.

But all will change come July 26, 2008,

Heather, This is all so sweet. I'm sitting here crying thru your post - started with your mom not getting it - sounds like my mom! The poem is beautiful. I have not seen that before. Sounds like you had a beautiful Christmas & next year's will be even sweeter with a new baby for everyone to love on!
