I struggle to come to this section. Not because I want to turn the other cheek, but because, oh so many reasons. Many of these stories bring up horrible childhood memories for me, and it is very emotional. I don't know what the answers are for the shelter animlas, obviously stricter laws on puppy mills would be a great start, or foreign countries, but I do believe stricter laws and prosecution for abuse in our country has come a long way. I know many animals would have been spared from my childhood at the hands of neighborhood bullies, and I doubt my horses would have had to suffer bb and shot gun pellets embedded in their buttocks, if we had had the laws we do today, back then.:mad: Even still, one case is one too many. |
