Abused Pit Bull Rescued - VERY Graphic Link This has got to be the worst case I've ever seen. This dog was found March 16 in New Jersey. First...the good news. Patrick, as he has been named, is improving and making a recovery! To find out more about Patrick, I've provided a link. DO NOT open it if you can't handle disturbing images. For those that can, there are daily updates on Patrick and info on how anyone that wishes to donate can help. Here's the link... Patrick the Dog Starved - Thrown Away As Garbage - Though that link doesn't say, someone has been arrested in this case. Here's the link for that.... Animal Cruelty Charges Filed in Case of Brutalized New Jersey Pit Bull - FoxNews.com The second link isn't graphic so you can click on that one. I'm so happy that Patrick was found in time and thoroughly disgusted at some of the creatures masquerading as humans that walk among us. There is no punishment that fits a crime such as this. |
I saw many horrible pictures while I was making my puppy mill video, and I didn't even use the most graphic, had I seen this picture, there is no way, I would have thought that dog was alive, or would live. I can't believe that Patrick survived this, and to think this wasn't even a puppy mill, it was a pet owner doing this!!! Quote:

The other thing that strikes me is the lengths that people are going to for Patrick. He could have so easily been deemed unsavable and euthanized. He is so lucky to be in the care of angels here on earth. I hope Patrick makes a complete recovery and finds a deserving home. Whoever gets him will be very lucky, IMO. |
What an unbelievable story. I cannot even begin to imagine how we have other human beings that live and breath our oxygen that behave like savages. |
Thank you for posting this WM. Unfortunately, the general population of too many animal shelters house more Pitbulls than any other breed. I think Chihuahua's are next. |
I'm sick and in tears. God bless this little boy and keep him well and happy!! |
I looked. I'm furious! HOW HOW HOW can any being DO this?? I will never understand this kind of torture. Whoever did this should be locked in a cell forever, with no access to another living creature ever. I have a very soft spot for pitties. They are big lap dogs who only want to be loved and babied. It's people who've ruined parts of this breed. JoAnn - chi's in shelters are rampant here! We hear often of chi's rescued in horrible/inhumane situations. I think it's worse (here) for pitties than it is for chi's. |
I'm as outraged as anyone over this.....who wouldn't be? It's downright ghastly. And the punishment? At the most, it will be a slap on the wrist. After having a little time to digest this, aside from the torture that Patrick endured, I'm left with 2 thoughts. One...that dog has an amazing will to live and deserves only the best from here on out. Second, the Associated Humane Societies are a wonderful bunch of folks! They are a model of caring that is rare to see. I'd love to see that become the norm. |

Patrick has a Facebook page The Patrick Miracle | Facebook |
Thanks for posting that, Jodi. Looks like Patrick has quite a fan club! And I love his pics there. He has made real progress in such a short time. Just wonderful! Way To Go , Patrick!!:thumbup::thumbup: |
Charges Upgraded Against Patrick's Owner At least she's still in jail and the upgraded charges could get her 18 months. It's not true justice, but at least it's something. Here's the link on this.... New Jersey Woman Charged With Torture in Case of Brutalized Pit Bull Puppy - FoxNews.com |
I saw this too on Dexter's page. His picture when found is by far the worst picture I've ever seen. |
...Video of Patrick eating....also saw a website that posted a picture of Patrick taking a poop. That's real progress for him!! He's eating and pooping but does have some foreign object in either his bowel or intestine that will have to be removed at some time. Good thing it's not causing any immediate problem. |
