I think it is a lot easier to train Yorkies or toy dogs in general when you only have 1 or 2, but when you have a pack, it gets more complicated. I have 8 now!! I know crazy!! But, now I have a few barkers who rile up others that weren't barkers before!! If I use a can with coins, the ones that were quiet get correction too and they jump! So sad! When I use a spray bottle, same thing, I end up hitting innocent bystanders!! I have tried the ultrasonic barker breaker too and my littlest, quietest angel was shaking in terror I had to stop using it too!! I wouldn't ever get a shock collar, but I understand when people are at their wit's end!! I end up using my ear plugs during the day!! |
I have always wondered how people train multiple dogs in a pack...we had four here and now three and some things like walking has to be done indivually, even for the ones who do obey they get naughty when another is not. Can you ever separate them out and work on the training with the "bad apples" I have to of course I have one bad apple named Princess Monster :D She learned everything naughty from my BF's dog who was here for a her critical pup stage...so I see how Princess picks right up on "tricks" and commands when Scoobers does them, yet in the same way disobeyed with Peanut's influence Quote:

I was told that I'd have to get a collar for every dog and that's just too expensive right now. It's just way too hard to train them all at once....so...as soon as it stays warmer overnight...they will be going to the garage at night and outside during the day. |

I'm confused as to what you mean... 1."have to get a collar"? 2."going in the garage during the night and outside during the day"? 1.Who said that-why? 2.Why in and out-you mean to separate them to train them? I think good old fashioned training works best...it's free too...just takes effort...sometimes a lot more than others. |
