Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | [NEWS] Puppy chews off baby's toes *GRAPHIC* I just found this article/video about a 12 week old pit bull puppy that ate off a 4 month old babies toes. If you click on the first video entitled 9-1-1 Call In Dog Chewing Baby's Toes Case you'll see the news clip. they don't show anything graphic but i wanted to put that in the title since it involves a baby and it might be upsetting to some people. The video shows this little pit puppy playing on the lawn and having a good time. Clearly this is not a vicious dog, hell its a baby. the mother is on prescription medication and was SLEEPING during the time the toes were eaten. Who can sleep through a screaming baby and where was the father?? They say they didn't notice until the next morning for real? Oh, and the puppy is not theirs. They are watching it for a friend who JUST WENT TO JAIL. Seriously some people should not breed, NOR have dogs (let alone a pit bull). Ugh this just makes me so angry. the child now might lose his foot and he's only 4 months old. All the blame lays on the parents. A highly medicated mother left a baby in the reach of a puppy. Where was this baby sleeping so that the puppy was able to get to his feet? why wasn't he in a crib or bassinet? there are so many things wrong with these parents....

Poor parenting blamed on puppy Pit bull puppy euthanized after chewing off baby's toes | WNCT

| OMG! Talk about the need for spay/neuter for the human population!!!! This just makes me sick what the he!! is wrong with these people?????? Are the parents even going to be help accountable for the neglect of this poor baby? When my kids were little I was out of bed like a lightening bolt if I even heard a peep out of them. How do you sleep through something like that? Seriously, they didn't even NOTICE until the next day the baby had its toes eaten off? Did they not notice blood from where the toes use to be located! What about the "owner" of the puppy~ was going to jail a surprise? Was he going to jail for lets say dog fighting I can't even watch the video link not because of it being graphic but I will want to jump through my screen and chock someone!

the owner of the puppy went to jail because of gun possession i believe. The video in the first post i made is not visually graphic. It has the news reporters going over the 911 call and shows the pit puppy on a leash playing in the background just so everyone can see that the pit was really a baby and just being a puppy. none of the links show pictures of the baby or his toes thankfully

The father was sleeping on the couch next to the mother in the "run down filthy trailer" that they all lived in while their other 2 children slept in another room. I think that information was in one of the articles in your second post. He didn't hear the baby either. The owner of the puppy was back in jail because of a PAROLE violation for get this~handgun possession by a felon and discharge of a gun within 500 ft of a residence!

| I wanted to reply to this because I own a pit bull along with 2 yorkies. First let me say that my male Pit bull is 2 years old. He is Fixed. My yorkies are 2, male and female. My pit bull is a Game bred pit bull, I had to put alot of time in to make sure this dog knew discipline. Before he got fixed he had an attitude on him and he thought he was boss. With alot of work, time, and reassurance, Vinny (the pit bull) is a happy well balanced dog. Yes I know what he is capable of. I know that in a blink of an eye he could kill my yorkies, and or someone. I socialized him with people and all animals. Vinny gets along with everyone and everything. I hate to see stories like this because these dogs truely are smart and loveable. I have to blame the owner on this one. puppies need supervision at all times. It's sad, but I blame him/or her. Blame the deed, not the breed. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Too bad that poor puppy didn't chew off the ADULTS toes. I didn't read or watch but it sounds like they were just plain PASSED OUT due to drugs or drinking - it's all the same to me Talk about total neglect - they should be in jail for endangering a child PLUS other charges ....and that poor puppy given to someone who knew how to handle pitts.... People just suck. That poor baby. I can't imagine the pain he felt |

| I was not blaming the dog either. I was too blaming the owner. The point I was trying to make is, these dogs needs to be trained. They are highly capable of doing alot of damage. You can't buy a dog and expect them to train itself. I don't want to get into dog fighting, I have different opinions on that than most. Yes, the owners should pay for what they did, it's a shame that this dog will probably be put to sleep for his owners ignorance, simply because its a pit bull. That's why I said punish the deed, not the breed. As in punish the moran who owns the dog, and not the dog itself. |

Oh my, does that mean you are for dog fighting? I think no one is blaming the puppy, it was only 12 weeks old, but unfortunately anyone can be allowed to buy a dog, and some bigger breeds do pose a danger to children.

| I can't believe this happened with the parents right there. But I do have a question. the pit bull was a puppy. What would make that dog eat a baby's toes to begin with? It just sounds so off the wall. Poor baby and poor dog.
