| Ranger's Surgery and Ryder Update Alrightie.... well, it's the night before Ranger's surgery and I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said I wasn't freaking out right now. But, I am trying soooooooo hard to be normal and not make Ranger upset. I fed him late this evening as he won't get breakfast in the morning. We have to leave at about 6AM as our consult is at 10AM in Sun Valley, which is three or so hours away. We will have a consult and then I have to <sob> and leave him there for surgery. We actually get to bring him home that night, which will make for an extremely looooooooooooooong hard day. Our surgeon is confident that they do better at home with their families and can start the real recovery the next day. I will update on this thread from my Blackberry tomorrow. Oh, and per some suggestions, I revamped his recovery crate. Instead of stuffing it with all his blankies (I was told not to do that to prevent him from getting caught up in them) I purchased him a theraputic memory foam "mattress" for his crate and then took off the cover it came in and put it in his snuggle sack.. ultimate comfort!! We are also stocked up on TONS of bullys, chewies and a few new soft toys for company. As for little Ryder, he is 100% himself now. He perked up after a good night's sleep and his first dose of pred. He has progressively getting better, but today is the first day he's been hard to manage as he is insisting on bouncing around like a bunny on his potty breaks. I have been really strict on his crate rest, but it's sooo hard because he looks soooo good and really wants his mommy! Ry has an appointment for an acupuncture session for Friday at 2PM. The vet would prefer to have gotten him in tomorrow but no go. It was kind of awkward explaining to her we weren't going to her clinic (she's not a surgeon but they have two boarded- yet fairly inexperienced- surgeons there). So, Friday it is. Good LORD I am going to be soooooooooooooooooooo broke!!

| Sending prayers Rangers way. I will be worrying about him all day. Please stay strong, so that he doesn't feel any uneasiness going into surgery. I'll be watching for an update! Here's a for all of you.

| I'm so happy Ryder is continuing to improve. Before you know it, both your boys will be playing together like usual! I'm sending lots of prayers and hugs to you all.
