| Helen .... you are better off not knowing!! My poor baby is a "recovering addict"!! She has finally stopped crying for her nightly after dinner "fix"!! I have never heard such a pitiful sound! We got a product called C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews/Petite from a vet and she loves them! We started giving one immediately after stopping giving the Greenies and at first she would eat it and then cry for a Greenie!! The first night, the crying/begging went on for about 1 1/2 hours and I finally just had to go to bed with her and got her to sleep! Thank God it's finally over ... but, we have to spell the word if we are discussing them .... believe it or not, she just gets so excited when she hears the word!! I so wanted my hands up around the throat of those Greenie makers the first few nights!!!

| Greenies My little Zoe loves them but I stopped giving them to her, they went straight through her and she has diarrhea problems anyway. My little Mick could eat a garbage can and he would still be constipated. Go figure........... |

| diarrhea and constipation Canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) is good for diarrhea and constipation. It really straightens out the digestive tract. I give my Bichons a couple of tablespoons and think a Yorkie might need a teaspoon or so. They love it. I put separate doses in sandwich bags and freeze them to keep from wasting the can of pumpkin. When I need some, I just pop a bag into the microwave to thaw. It's a great natural remedy. |

| I HATE GREENIES....They killed my 10 month old LHsa Aspo puppy, Chloe. She aways ate them because I thought they were safe. Well a huge piece blocked her intestines and actually bursted.... She bleed internally and was beyond surgery....I had to have her put to sleep. It was so terrible. When I see them in the stores and I see that someone has them, I flat out go up to them and tell them my story. I've filed complaints, etc...nothing happened. If I can save another family from going through what we did, I will. I wish I had enough money to purchase everyone off the shelves and throw them away.... So yes...I dislike greenies a ton. Please Please Please...anyone reading this...THROW THEM OUT! |

| We had to get over a greenie addiction as well. They went straight to the trash after hearing all the reports. Mine absolutely loved them. I found something they like almost as well....surprisingly it's the Pedigree "Breath Buster" dog biscuits...they have parsley or mint or something in them. They smell like herbs, but my dogs love them. I think that might be weird...LOL

| I wanted to add that they do like bully springs and bully sticks and tendons. I haven't heard if those are ok, but I think they are. The only thing about the bullys are that I can't get them away from them easily when they've chewed them to a small piece that I don't feel safe with them having....there's a fight on my hands when I have to take away a small piece of bully stuff.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | Wow, I thought when they remade them (to make them softer) it would help. Are these the NEW greenies or still some of the older hard ones? I work in a store and we sell lots of greenies.

| As soon as we heard about those greenies we stopped ASAP. We had just bought a small bag of them. We threw them out. Taking no changes with our babies. |

| This topic concerns me. I saw another post in the product review section about the teeny greenies. They are apparently coming back into popularity. My husband bought one the other day. (Forgive him, he didn't know.) We argued (respectfully ) about whether or not they were safer now. While researching, I read the package and it says only one per day. One per day? Of the teeny ones? What about people who give the larger ones...don't those equal two teenies? Why the limit if they are safe now? It just bothered me, and I threw it away. I would really like to hear about research on these supposedly "newly formulated" ones.

| Mojo was on IV fluids for 7 days (trying to avoid them opening his tummy) because of either greenies or rawhides (we couldn't determine which one it was, but it was one of those two). A chunk was nibbled off and it expanded in his tummy and got stuck. He is not a chewer, but when they nibble on either one, small pieces can come off. Greenies actually expand if you soak it in water. It is true! Greenies and rawhide are banned from our house!!!

| I'd read this about greenies a good while back on this board, so I never bought any. I'd also read on here rawhides were bad for them, and can block the intestines. When I quit the rawhide treats, Adonis quit throwing up! I tried them on their first bully stick this evening. OMG...they love those things! I got one of the 12" ones and cut it into 1/4ths with my miter saw! So it'll be bully sticks in my home now for chews But last thing I want tonight will be doggie kisses But, both of mine love chewing. And they need a chew treat once in a while. So I'll just have to skip doggie kisses when I pass these out. |
