| Keeley had to go to the VET today! I wrote a post earlier about Keeleys eye being swollen. And that he had thrown up... Post from Earlier Well, after that he threw up another 4 times, and had started shaking violently. It totally freaked me out, so I took him to the vet. They looked under his face hair and saw that his whole face was extremely swollen; cheeks, forhead, all around his eyes, ect. Poor baby! I couldn't really tell before, but now I can. Well after a full check up, the conclusion is-- He was bitten or stung by something posionous. And he is having a full body allergic reaction. They gave him 2 shots, and I am to give him benadryl for 24 hours. He is acting really weird. Tail and ears down, shaking, walking slowly and not wanting to eat. The vet said he should be better by tomorrow. Last edited by Meg; 08-04-2006 at 01:07 PM. |

| Glad you got him to the vet...I had to give Peanut the other night a benadryl and he was acting weird all night, but man the next day he was acting like a puppy again...so I would think its the meds he is taking...

| I'm so sorry your little guy is not feeling well. Glad you took him in. Please make sure to give him some Nutrical since he's not wanting to eat. Give him a big hug and kiss from and keep us posted.

| What a scarry experience. Glad you knew to take your little one to the vet. I'm sure Keeley will be just fine, but keep us posted. An allergic reaction can be very serious & sometimes take awhile to get over. |

| I also think that benadryl makes em tired. My vet told me to give Elle some childrens benadryl for her kennel cough. She was always wanting to sleep. And kinda acting funny. But when we stopped giving it to her, she was her old self again.

| Thanks everyone. The swelling has gone down, and he hasn't thrown up, but I can tell he is still not feeling that great. He was moving around all night,( like he couldn't sleep) and is acting timid and uncomfortable. I gave him some more benadryl this morning and he actually is sleeping. I am hoping this is coming to an end. I miss my hyper goofy baby. |
