				 | puppy coat to adult coat??? are yorkies born with a "puppy coat" that eventually changes to an "adult coat"?? Kash's hair is so hard to manage... it has a very cottony/fluffy texture... it's not silky and smooth like i see on most yorkies... am i just not taking the best care of it?? or will it eventually change to be more managable?? i know i probably sound ignorant or like a bad mommy... but it's hard to groom him everyday, especially with the tangles he gets. i've used conditioners/detanglers, but i can't seem to stop the knots from forming! and i know it hurts him when i brush him because i can feel the knots being pulled even with the right products mixed in. any help??

				 | I know that the coat will change from a puppy coat to adult coat but I'm not sure when this happens. My friend's puppy' coat changed when she was about a year old. It went from being cottony, almost coarse, to silky soft! I brush my furbaby every night while watching tv and I use a good detangler. I don't really have a problem with knots but I've kept her hair fairly short.

				 | When andy's coat was changing it got some bad knots so I finally had to cut it off when he was about 4 or 5 months off. A very good breeder and friend of mine told me recently that it was a blessing in disguise. She says she always cuts her dogs hair she knows se is keeping when they are in that change because it is better for the hair and gets rid of that puppy hair. That will eventually shed out and get caught in the adult hair and make tangle. I'll admit since cutting it it has gotten longer and a lot easier to comb. He is getting that long straight silky hair. |

				 | I am at that point with Diesel right now. I was wondering if I supposed to cut off all the black tips or what. I dont ever see a grown yorkie with black tips, lol.

| Donating YT Addict | I'm having the same problem. My Baby is just over 4 months and his face and back is beautiful and silky but his chest and armpits are cottony and I brush matts every night. I do notice some of the cotton hair in the brush after so I hope soon that it will all be gone. I'm planning on keeping him in a puppy cut so I'm not worried about growing his hair long..so I think we may have to clip him soon.

He was looking so terrible so I just decided that enough is enough and took him, he didn't look like a yorkie at all just an orphan not cool for such a sweetie..lol I am sure he will be as cute as a button once he is all clipped.. Maybe now he'll wear his sweater..lol I will be picking him up soon... pics to follow..
