Hello,
I lost my dear sweet baby Tigger to Atlantoaxial Instability (AAI or AAS)
Looking for other Fur-mom that have experience with AAI or AAS
to help us in our new support group, we are trying to build a support group for information and support.

We also welcome any congenital defects to our group.

This condition has a lot of similarities of other disorders,
so he went a long time before being diagnosed. The sooner the problem is discovered the better the chance of recovery. And can cause sudden death.
here are some of the symptoms..below.. my email if you have any questions.
juannell@msn.com I want to help other babies. I could not find much information when I need it so desperately, so I want to see that fur-moms have as much information as possible to help these very special babies.
symptoms sometimes seen:
Falling
Wobble like gate
Carry head down
arched back
neck pain
These are just a few, but if you see this in your baby, please question your vet about AAI.... An simple x-ray is all needed.

First of all, I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your precious furbaby

Many hugs and prayers to you during this difficult time. And I applaud you at the same time wanting to reach out to others who may have lost a baby to the same illness and help them by starting a support group! Best of luck to you in that.

Thank you.. we had a long struggle together!
Like most, I loved him dearly.. Miss him.
My Tigs was a very special baby, and if I can just help one baby it will be like my Tigs is living on.

This is seen alot in Yorkies!

Please keep the symptoms is mind, if you see any post that may apply.
Please do send them my way.. The longer they go un-diagnosed the less chance.. still learning myself, would love to find more fur-moms that have experiences.

Hey Nell!!!

I have had the honor of knowing little Tigs, never met him in person but Nell always was sharing pics of him and he was a special little guy. He knew he had his mommy wrapped around his little paw

Yes its never easy to loose a loved one.
I have 4 more Yorkies but he was my special
baby! As much as I miss him I am glad that he
is not in pain any more.. I just want to let as many
people know about AAI as I can.. Because It was
hard finding information on this, and no support group to
share information.. Keep us in mind if you see any thing
that looks like AAI, of moms with experience.

Nice of you to understand... and I do miss him so very much,
but I don't miss seeing him in pain!
He will live forever in my heart!

If you see any that maybe AAI... please fell free to send them
my way.. this goes miss diagnosed often... and a lot are put down because
some do not know there are options
