Please Read!.. Need some help! I have rescued a female yorkie. She is 7+ years old. I took her and a male from a back yard breeder. They were "mates". The male when I got him was 8 pounds and the female was 6.6 pounds. The female is now approx 40 days pregnant. This happened before I got them so please do not judge me. I am just looking for assistance. Yes she has been to the vet. They will not do much since she is so far along the xrayed and said yes she is pregnant. I have heard so many different things about diet for her. I have heard puppy food, then I heard no puppy food but a high protein food. I am scared for her, she has mammory gland tumors, and cataracts. Neither of which the vet will do anything for until she gives birth. They will not abort them because she is so far along. Please give me some insight as to what to do for her.

Well, you are doing all the rite things. You need to find a Mentor & have your vet & the Emergency vet numbers ready at all times. There are some very good very reputable breeders here on YT & I'm sure someone will be here before long to help you & tell you exactly what you need to do to prepare both you & your little momma. I'll be Praying all goes well for her & her pups. And Please, Please be sure she is spayed ASAP & daddy needs to be neutered as well.

Daddy has all ready been fixed. That was the first thing I had done. Ever since I rescued my first 3 a couple of years ago and joined this group, I have rescued many more. Some I rehome, some I keep lol. I just get them out of their bad situation into better ones. They are by far my fav breed. I will post pics of both in a little bit, my camera is charging. I hope some breeders jump on and give me some advise for this sweet girl. I just want her to be comfortable and help her as much as I can.
