im not a breeder yet..but from what i have read here and online...some will some wont...meaning some can eat right up till the very minute they give birth...as for activity..one mom was just running around like normal and ran behind the couch and had her first pup.....one ladie had her dog on the bed went into her bathroom came out less than 2 minutes later to see a pup there...and there was not any panting or anything.....female yorkies are alot like human females.....everyone is different and then with somethings they are very similar in....just keep your eye on her...one question....has she lost her plug yet?...usually that is a sign that the pups will be born in less than 48 hours or so

i dont know what im looking for when speaking of the mucus plug. She cleans herself constantly! And she goes to my dad more often.... she already went to him before however, she does not like to be away from him at all now. Her tummy looks as though it has dropped when she sits... does not look like it did before.... she is sooooo tight on her tummy as of right now... but dad gave her a little bit of steak... so i dont know if it is just a FULL tummy or if puppies are on their way!

Okay so Peyton is panting now dont know if its because she is hot or on delivery mode.... Its cool in the house fans going and all.... How can i tell if she is having contractions ....how do i know if she lost her plug....HELP!!!!

first dont panick....she will sense that.....now put her in her whelping box....and put your hand on her tummy...you may actually be able to see them without touching....dont worry about the plug...she may have lost that and ate it...so you may not know if she has it still or not....not a problem...get your supplies within hands reach of the whelping box.....im here...if there is a problem...there are others online that go through this alot and can help.....congrats sounds like you are on your way

If Peyton is panting, she is more than likely in labor. If it is cool in the house, make sure it is NOT too cool where she is deliveriung puppies. Stay calm.. she needs you to stay calm. Has she started pushing yet? when mine pushed, the only indication was for her to strentch her neck out, a little like stretching to wake up.

is Peyton panting still?.......make sure you have water available right beside her at all times...Sunnie can you please tell her some things ....like i told her im not a breeder yet....still learning....im just telling her things i have heard from you great Ladies and have read online

I don't think she is online right now. I haven't followed her thread much so I don't know how prepared she is as far as what supplies she has on hand. Hopefully she will come back and let us know what is going on. I will be going to dinner in a few3, but will check back soon.

Make sure it is warm in the room where she is whelping,turn off all of the fans, when the puppies are born they are completely wet and they can get chilled and catch pneumonia. Good luck and keep us updated!

im online right now..... she is panting but its not a heavy one..... she seems normal on everything.... i just took her temp again and im back to 100.00 i have not seen her dig or anything since this morning. As far as supplies i have everything needed from the heating pad, to milk replacer, nutrical, hemostats, scissors, floss (unscented/unflavored), stopper (for bleeding) gloves, KY jelly, scale...... you name it i have it in the box.

her room is in a walk in closet no fans or anything so it is warm in there.....

Her panting is not real heavy.... she hasn't streached or anything she seems normal.... I think she is beginning to mess with me...LOL She eats like normal, she sleeps and lays down 99% of her day she tries to play (but we dont try to let her.... etc. So i dont know where we stand yet unless she is waiting till earlier in the morning like 2am....LOL

No, she has not tried to start pushing yet.... no sign of pushing..... she scratches her self alot licks herself.
