Adjustable Length Leashes What would you think about an adjustable leash -- one that would adjust from the standard 6' length down to about 3 1/2'. I am considering replacing the leash that I am currently making with adjustable ones and wanted to get some feedback before I made that switch. Any input would be appreicated. ADMIN -- THANK YOU FOR THIS FORUM! What a GREAT way for us to get "helpful hints" regarding our products! |
I think adjustable leashes would be awesome! |
Do you have a pic to show us all what it would be like????? How would it adjust? It sounds like a good idea but I am a VISUAL person.... :D |
adjustable leashes Well, I think they are great...in a park or safe open space. Be very careful when there could be a dangerous situation for your little one and you need to pull him out of harm's way! Otherwise, it's great for games of fetch and exercise! Good luck! (Sorry, I'm bit of a paranoid Yorkie Mommy. I've lost 2 yorkies(as a child) to hit-and-run!) |
I like the idea.....I would like to see and hear about how it would work. Cindy, you are always coming up with GREAT things!! :justahug: |
I like short leashes myself. I wouldn't want one that's over 4' long since I like my dogs to be at my side when walking and not scouting out up front and back and forth. ;) I do like a really good swivel on the leash so it doesn't end up looking like a cork-screw. :p |
I have an adjustable leash like what you're describing and I love it for traveling. I can keep him very close and predictable in new places and sitches and let it out when we are in our familer stomping grounds. |
I think that would be great! I always have used a retractable because I'm short, so regular leashes have always been too long for me to comfortably use. |
I would really like an adjustable leash. I think it would be great for training purposes. |
Sounds like a great idea to me. |
hey Cindy! If you need a "guinea pig"... lemme know.... that sounds neat! d |
Oh Cindy, I seriously would LOVE this!! It is actually so weird that I stumbled upon this thread because I was thinking of this JUST YESTERDAY while I was walking the babies. I do use the retractable leashes - but not around here when I take the babies for a walk around the neighborhood - since we are on the sidewalks and all...I am just scared that they could get too close to the street. Anyway, since my babies are small (Tate especially!) I would really like having the option of shortening the leash so that it doesn't hang down so much as I have nearly almost tripped on the leashes before  Not referring to YOUR leashes specifically, but just all leashes in general. I really, really would love this girl! If you decided to make one to try out - please do post a pic!! |

Brooke -- I will be posting a picture within a couple of days. I am waiting on a hardware shipment. |
I'm so excited to see this, I think it's a great idea!! |
I think it's a great idea. I saw a short leash advertised online yesterday to be used when walking in traffic. If you have an adjustable, you only need to carry one leash. When I'm getting out of the car, in NYC traffic, with bags, my handbag and Max, a short leash would be wonderful! |
