purebreeders.com I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about purebreeders.com. I''m looking for a maltease. They say they are a group of breeders from all over the USA. They seem to have phone banks, a receptionist etc. They have good reviews. Even a few movie/music stars have purchased from them. Some of the puppies don,t look very good, while others are beautiful. Not many are registured AKC, when I ask about that I was told that AKC cost more and there are alot of didderent ways or places to register a dog. I always think AKC is the best way to go if the puppie is apure bred. Anyways if anyone has delt with this place could u give me a heads up ? Thanks for any info. Laurie |

I've no experience with them but would tell you anyway, I would have nothing to do with them if I wanted a Maltese. Also, just bc movie stars get puppies from a place certainly doesn't make the breeder reputable. I remember not long ago Miley Cyrus got a yorkie from one of the worst puppymills in my area. Also, don't buy that line AKC costs more to register, that's why they register with the other so-called registries. Reputable breeders don't use those registries. If you want a Maltese contact their breeder's club. Specific breed clubs are always the best place to start your search. American Maltese Association |

Thank you so much, really, Miley was one of the stars that bought a yorkie from this place. I saw a picture of her yorkie and thought it really was no where as pretty as my two. So again, thank you, thank you, thank you. You just saved me from thinking maybe they might be ok, but I wanted to make sure. At first I told them I thought they were puppymills. I really did have red flags going up. But I really want at least one Maltese. Do have any ideas wher I could find a good breeder? So many of these dogs have curly hair and nasty looking eyes. I want a really pretty one, for around $1500.00? |

Chances are they're BROKERS and you want to stay away from that kind of situation. They're basically middle men who 'up' the price - I guess breeders who don't care where their puppies end up use them to avoid the time it takes to sell a puppy but still - it's not a good idea to use a broker Factor in the extra cost - you also may never see paperwork. I can't think of anything good I've heard about using a broker. Maybe if a breeder was incapacitated in some way they may use one - but a bunch (of breeders) getting together to form a group like that sends red flags..... |

maltese rescue - Yahoo! Search Results I agree, NEVER use a broker...just someone else making $$$ off of the dogs. |

Vee and Cindy are right, these are probably puppy brokers. IMO, they are just as bad as the mills and bad byb's, in some ways worse. They have nothing invested in these lives, their motive is always pure profit! |
