method of shipping Which is better - USPS or UPS? Is one cheaper than the other? I know UPS insures packages up to $100.00 included in the shipping cost. Anyone know? |
It usually depends on the size and weight if it's a larger heavier box ups is usually cheaper and you get the 100.00 insurance for no extra charge you also get a tracking # so you can track you package. usps charges extra for insurance and a tracking # usps tracking will only tell you when the package arrives and it is usally more expensive to ship larger heavier boxes. Hope this helps |
I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail...the insurance is $1.35 for up to $50 (I think) and then another $1.50 or so for confirmation/tracking (I think). If the box is oversized, sometimes the post office have to measure it and charge a surcharge for it being oversized. I think this is just for huge boxes though, I have mailed off some big boxes and have never had an extra charge. |
