Girls clothes question No, Gizzy didn't change his gender! LOL But, just in case I am lucky enough to have a little girl yorkie as our exchange buddy, I have a couple of questions about clothing for little girls. The only pics I can find of girls clothing show the back. How do they attach under the tummy? Are they one piece like long shirts? Do they attach with ties, buttons, snaps, velcro under the belly? What closures are preferred? Are there any fabric preferences? I would think the softer and more comfy the better, but I have seen some with lace, etc... Anything to watch out for? Is there a certain style dress most yorkie mommyies prefer? Some that look better or are easier to put on or keep on? |
Usually the Yorkie parent will specify if he/she likes clothing for their furbaby. Some will say they like dresses, some prefer tanks, some only want harnesses, etc. Others will be specific and say they T-shirts or even mention a particular outfit from somewhere. Hopefully you will be able to clue in to the preferred style by reading the notes in the questionnaire. I try to always be specific on what I like, don't like, etc. |

most vendors on here take comfort into account when making the dresses/pj's. i find the over the head dresses (we have two from Des- Go Fetch) to look most comfortable... loll.. but what do i know.. Layla seems equally "comfortable" in any type, but ESEPCAILLY in pj's :) |
Thanks! I have a better idea now. :) |
My girl, Emmy, does not like the sound of the velcro...I am sure there are others that way, too. |
I'm not too picky when it comes to dresses for my girls, other than I like them to come to where their tail begins rather than looking like a crop top!!! With tanks and sweaters, I don't like them to be snug - so sometimes I go a size larger if they won't fall off the shoulders. In general, I am happy with anything cute, frilly and girly!!!!! |
I know! Gizzy doesn't like velcro either. That's why I wondered about another closure. I thought about buttons, but they would probably be eaten. Ties could work, but they might be too tempting to chew on. Would you be able to get her out of snaps quickly enough if you needed to? |

I like velcro or snaps or pull over or whatever......anything cute and that fits. I think most people appreciate anything! |
Cool! Maybe I'll get lucky and get to buy girl stuff!!! My husband is laughing because I never had any girls (human) of my own..2 boys. And now, another boy (yorkie)! But what can I say? I fell in love with the little guy. It would just be too much fun to get a girl as my buddy. Of course, a boy would be great too. I already have that stuff scoped out. Maybe I can make girl stuff and just send it out to people randomly? :D Or dress more poor naked dogs in my neighborhood! |

no velcro for us!! I also had human boys (human) so i have the girls to pamper and buy pink. Dressing little girls is sooooooooo much fun as they can have so many different styles and options. My girls HATE velcro. The sound just freaks them out. All of my fashions are the pull over the head and i use super stretchy fabrics that give when they move. Comfort is my girls' number one requirement so i try to keep that in mind when designing my fufu's for males or females. I will be offering YT'er specials for the GE so please contact me if there is something on the site that you want for your special buddy, male or female!! :D I am sure anything you get for your buddy will be appreciated. These are so much fun to participate in!! Just have fun with it!! |
London doesn't care about velcro, etc. I think she wears anything cute :p |
I know for me, I like the cute little t-shirts from Go Fetch. They are just to darling! I don't dress my girls all the time cause of the matting. |
I wanted to add....satin lined items are nice for those of us with the longer hair girls and I like for Lily's dresses to be longer on her than her actual length. |
