Yep, we're out of this one too. Rosie would outgrow anything she got, and it's her turn next anyways.

Maybe YT should cut it back to three GE per year. I seems as if everyone is just so busy during the summer months and some of us are just getting over the last one ending.

I agree and have said that several times. IMO each gift exchange seems to last three months, some of us start talking about it during the sign up time, then the shopping and the clues month then all the thank you threads, so that means every month on YT something is going on regarding the exchange, to me that is overload. If there were less GE per year, I think you would have more people in each exchange making for more excitement. but heck what do I know:D

Maybe not having them so much surrounded around Special occ. / Holidays because most of us (Me) are tapped out ($) from buying gift for our family members.

Maybe even twice a year would be better!

An April or May GE would be nice because of the nice spring weather and getting out of the house more. June - August not so much because people will just be too busy with family and summer vacations. Oct or Nov not much happening around here so that would be perfect.

We are going to have to miss this one also. With surgery around the corner and with the spring craziness approaching I can not do it. I am looking forward to hopefully the next one or the one in the fall. It will be a blast

I hope all of us didn't talk anyone from signing up. I see there are still no sign ups. I love watching the GE even when I'm not in it.

C'mon peeps! The GE is so much fun..if you have time to do it, you should. I'll offer my services to help with clues and such if you want :D

For this last one, yes. The next sign-ups will be July 1-31, with the 31st being the deadline.

To be eligible, you have to donate $25+/pup entered, have at least 250 posts (join the fun in the GAMES section!) and you must be a member for at least 3 full months.

Usually buddies will be given first week of August ( if there is enough interest) and mail by the first of the following month.

Interest has been waning so we will see how this one goes.

I had planned on joining the next one and I really want to, but I'm going to have to re-evaluate my finances. Uncle Sam is still wanting his tax money for some reason. Silly drunk uncle that he is. :D :p

I have a feeling when they put up the sign up thread that more people will join than what we are thinking right now. There wasn't one this past quarter so I just have a feeling some of "us" are ready for one.......

IMHO and my conversations with others the competition/bucu dollars spent etc., is what keeps most members away. Imagine a GE where folks spent the amount decided upon...when was the last time that happened?

I know you won't like me saying this but it got out of control as far as I'm concerned and unfortunately became a who can outdo who for SOME members.

This could be a really fun event if a certain amount was really spent, a see who could get what from where...

I know this is controversial here, but I'm again speaking my peace regarding this. I've had people ask me to join. If I'm told $40 to spend that's what I would spend...now who wants to be my buddy? Infact, I couldn't and wouldn't go above that.

Now some of you will come here and say awww, no its the thought that counts etc., I say baloney...I've seen the behind the scenes chatter....and I've seen the fights over it.

So this is my 2 cents on this matter.

Here's my response and take on it....and it's not baloney. I can't speak for anyone else.

I honestly don't think it is a "who can out-do who" thing that's been happening. If you have heard otherwise from other people, then that is news to me. Never heard of fights. Sorry that happened. If anyone was having fights like that "behind the scenes", let your voices be heard so things can change.

I *do* agree, though, that spending is out of control. I spent a lot more than I intended to spend last time for a couple of reasons. One - I ended up having Mack Brown as our SB and it was his birthday month and he is just a miracle to even be having a birthday. Two - I wanted to help a member get a box until her SB, who was injured and had a death in the family, was able to get back.

The main problem (my opinion) is that it is addicting. I never spent to out-do anyone. I spent because I get so excited shopping for others and, quite honestly, can't be trusted to control my credit card. lol

Now, to sum up...I disagree with some of what your take is on it and I agree with some of the other stuff.

Bottom line, a spending minimum is nice, but there NEEDS to be a spending maximum. I would NEVER mind having you as my SB. It was never about what Mandie got (and I truly believe most of the others feel this way). Mandie has everything she needs. It was about meeting friends..which I did. Big time! I didn't have hardly any here until the GE. But my biggest gift was surprising my SB. $40 from my SB for Mandie? Perfectly fine. I know it would be from the heart and that means everything.

I wish Admin would do a set range and make it finite. Like: "You are required to spend at least $40 but not more than $60." I think that would help a lot. :thumbup:
