As for the other stuff, basically it is this - when the sign up period is over, you will randomly be assigned your Secret Buddy who you buy gift for. The "hints" come after that. Everyone will post threads in this Gift Exchange section (after learning who they have as a Secret Buddy (SB) ) and give silly and cute hints every once in a while..just to tease and see if people can guess if it is them. For example: Hint 1 could be, "Hey, SB! I found out that you live in a state way far away from me." and that would be it until the next hint. You'll see others and get ideas. It's just all in fun ;)
You'll be a great gifter. Just read your SB's sign up info (just like you will fill out and post - that link I gave you). That will tell you the sort of stuff your SB likes and then you just buy gifts based on that. Remember, it's all fun and you can't really go wrong :)
