| DBlain | 12-08-2012 11:06 AM | Lola Got Her Box from Lilo!!! 4 Attachment(s) Yesterday was a long and exciting day for Lola and I. Our box came and we were excited to find out Lilo was Lola's buddy, so it came full circle, how cool was that. Since so few buddies were left and several people told me they thought she was our buddy I started feeling like perhaps it was true. So when Cess said that her box was due to deliver on Friday Lola and I were on high alert. Like the good watchdog she is Lola spotted the mail truck when he approached but much to our dismay he just put mail in our box by the street and drove off I was so sad that I almost drove after him asking if there was anything else. Well about 20 min later this time both of us notice the truck is back again, he passes our house and then circles around to park and then out he gets carrying the HUGEST box, I could see from the distance that it had Lola's name on it, LOL Cess did an amazing job on the box every inch was covered with Lola's image, her name, and Holiday Greetings. We were jumping up and down when we found out Lilo was our buddy :happyboun Lola kept circling the box and sniffing and pawing it at, she has an amazing sense of smell and could tell there were treats and toys in that big box. Well then the waiting started, I promised Hope, the 12 year old girl I mentor, that when the box came I would wait until she got home from school so she could be with us when we opened it.
Hope finally arrived so we get two cameras ready, one for videos and one for photos. Then we got nervous, we are both like OK how do we start, so I cut the box open carefully so not to tear any of the art work, yea there was an open me first envelope which I was relieved to find were the last three pieces of the puzzle, I was so happy that I did not throw any of the pieces away, then the most beautiful Christmas Card with Lilo's sweet face looking up at us:aimeeyork, we took a moment and both said she is watching us from above, and then we dove in. Cess did put a note in the box that the non shinny presents were to be opened last, (because they were the toys) but Lola was having none of that, she dove right in and could smell the squeaky toys that she is nuts over and tore into the wrapping with frenzy, well before we knew what hit us bedlam took over as Lola began racing back and forth as she could not decided between playing fetch with her first find the candy cane toy, or coming back to further investigate, so she did both, we could not slow this girl down, so we sat back and watched her find and tear open every toy present in the box. Hope said this was Lola's Christmas morning:D. She was having such a blast, her ponytail was a eschewand hanging over her face, she was panting, she was huffing, I swear she may have even been sweating, but boy was she happy. Then Hope and I opened the rest of the gifts, there were pretty dresses, there was robe with Lola's name on it, the cutest raincoat, there were bows, there was beautiful pink blanket, there were treats for Lola, my husband and myself, there was a nice yorkie cut out with Lola's name that I am putting on my car. And there was a glass Yorkie ornament almost exactly like the one I sent Cess. That really touched me because I so loved the one I sent Cess but it was the only one I could find like it, I thought it looked like Lilo and it had a pink skirt and Cess said Lilo had a pink tree, so as much as I wanted that ornament, I wanted Cess to have it more, and then lo and behold she finds one almost exactly like the one I sent only it has a red skirt and I have a red and gold tree, I mean could it get any more perfect than that. The similarities did not end there I got Lilo a rob, she got Lola one, I got them a small plush blanket , she got us one, I really think we are secretly related.
Before you ask, I am not ready with my smile box yet, with Lola being so wound up yesterday I did not take pictures of her in her pretty new outfits so I will be doing that after I post this. Also since we captured a lot of her excitement on video I want to share that as well, so I have someone coming over to help me edit it and they cannot be here until tomorrow. I sent Cess and email yesterday thanking her for the wonderful job she did with our smile box and how we loved everything and are so appreciative of her thoughtfulness , but I did not want to go another day without letting everyone else know.
Check back tomorrow afternoon for my smile box but in the meantime here are a few photos to hold you over until then.
I finally had to get in the picture to hold onto Lola so I could get a shot of her with what was left of the wrapped presents, you can see her tongue hanging out and I can tell you her heart was beating fast. The last one really cracks me up. I was upstairs last night editing some pictures and my husband yelled up that Lola will not leave the box alone. I had put it up on a bench, that she never jumps up on and when I came down to see what she was up to I was able to capture her on her tippy toes trying to get back in to see if something got left behind. Today she has been circling the floor under the table were the box is now laying, she may be small but has the memory of an elephant:)
Thank you Cess, Tam, and Lilo you guys are the best buddies ever |
